From the Heaphy to Haast is a stretch of some 500km of Coast Road, much of it adjacent to native bush. As it is where the locals live, is accessible and flatish, it is along this road that the Coast Road Dawn Chorus has began.
We are a group of backyard trappers (some of us have very large backyards) and community trapping projects. Together we aim to create this 500km long predator controlled corridor and help our native birds.
As a starting point we are focusing on a stretch of coast road from Runanga to Fox River, but we welcome projects from anywhere along the Coast Road. So if you have a backyard or community trapping project and wish to join us, or are interested in helping out as a volunteer, please get in touch.
