DESCRIPTION:Come along to help build/repair 20 predator traps with materia
 ls kindly donated by DOC and Predator Free Punakaiki. Bring your kids too 
 if they would like to learn how to build a trap.The traps will be allocate
 d to willing community members living along the Coast Road of Barrytown fl
 ats and those attending the workshop will be given first option to take tr
 aps home. These traps are the start of the Coast Road predator trapline fr
 om 17 Mile Bluff to the Punakaiki River. Our group Coast Road Dawn Chorus 
 applied to the DOC Community Fund for this trapline in March but we are ye
 t to hear the outcome.The traps are DOC150 rat/stoat traps housed in woode
 n boxes to the DOC specification. They are NAWAC (National Animal Welfare 
 Advisory Committee) approved and weka\, pet and child safe We have all the
  materials to make/repair the boxes but please bring the following tools i
 f you have them: hammer\, square head driver\, drill and drill bits\, hand
 saw\, wire snips\, pencil and ruler. We&#x27\;re off the grid\, so only br
 ing your hand or battery powered tools (it is largely an assembly job from
  pre-cut materials). We&#x27\;ll be working outside and will postpone if w
 et. Please wear warm clothing and sturdy shoes.Hope to see many of you the
 re to get these traps fixed up and help our native birds in this mega mast
