Coast Road Dawn Chorus Gathering 2019
Saturday 21st of September 2019 at 9:30am to 4:30pm
Barrytown Hall [map]
Come along for a day of sharing and learning on predator trapping. We have a packed day of skills based workshops, interactive talks and a guided tour of the Barrytown School trapping project by some of the school children. We are also pleased to welcome Kristel Van Houte from the Raglan based Karioi Project as the keynote speaker.
There will also be a kid's trapping corner for children to make tracking tunnels, weta motels, lizard lounges and paper models of native birds.
Morning and afternoon tea will be provided. Please bring a plate (with food on it!) for a shared potluck lunch.
To give us an idea of numbers attending please REGISTER.
After the Gathering there will be a sunset tour of the nearby Westland Petrel / Taiko breeding colony, 6.15-8pm. THIS IS NOW FULL UP. It is limited to a maximum of 20 people and is offered as a free tour to those attending the Gathering. Feel free to still let us know that you would like to go if room becomes available by ticking the checkbox when you REGISTER. Many Thanks to the Westland Petrel Conservation Trust. Best to wear gumboots. If wet, it will be postponed to Sunday evening.
