South Island / Te Wai Pounamu as you've never seen before ... a giant floor map of the South Island so big it fills the school hall!

West Coast branch of Forest & Bird and Kiwi Conservation Club invite you to the conservation week event Putting Nature on the Map, to be held on Sunday 5th September, 11am to 3pm at Greymouth High School Hall.

You will be able to walk all over the map (with shoes off) and experience the wonders of the South Island. There will be storytelling sessions across the map by local experts on Penguins, Wild Rivers, Kiwi, Predator Free Projects, Sea Stacks and more. Children/families can take on nature adventure challenges with prize packs on completion. Local conservation, nature restoration and outdoor recreational groups will also have displays around the map, including Coast Road Dawn Chorus.

Follow the great rivers from source to sea. Find and discover our National Parks. Climb the mountains of the Southern Alps. Go on a journey of discovery with storytellers. Complete a nature adventure challenge with prizes for under 12s.

Free drop-in event. Everyone welcome.
